Date // Sunday 20th October 2013
Venue // La Mare Vineyards
The chocolate making workshop at La Mare Vineyard on 20th October was a great success! A small group of our children got stuck in making amazing chocolate 'pizzas' and lollypops.
Our host for the afternoon, the resident Chocolatière showed the children how to pipe out a lovely chocolate pizza base, cover with sweetie toppings, then drizzle with white chocolate 'cheese' topped off with more sweets. The children really enjoyed themselves, some making rather larger versions than shown! They were packed into original pizza boxes to take home, which was fun.
The Chocolatière then explained a little of how to make chocolate and gave everyone a few samples of the La Mare chocolates to try, all very delicious - the chilli chocolate flavour got a mixed reaction!
Lastly the children made a chocolate lollipop covered with creative toppings and lovely swirled chocolate. Cocoa patterned sheets coated the backs to make a great effect.
Afterwards we had tea and pastries in the beautiful restaurant. Thank you to La Mare Vineyards for a great afternoon enjoyed by all.
