Jersey College for Girls learn British Sign Language

Inspiration , News // Thursday 22 Sep 2011

We're proud to report that our very own Carol & Robert spent all day yesterday with Jersey College for Girls Prep where they visited every class in the school to demonstrate various items of British Sign Language, from the alphabet, greetings, colours and items.

Carol, Robert, the JGC teacher's and students had a thoroughly enjoyable, inspirational and informative day and we hope that the students have the confidence to take what they have learned and share it at home and now have an understanding of hearing-impairment and the need for clear communication.

Andrew Willis, Head Teacher, JCG Preparatory School says "The signing yesterday was fantastic! The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were signing to me as I went round the classes.  Carole was amazing and worked solidly all day in 15 classes. Robert was great and really captivated the Year 6's.  Thank you again for organising such a valuable opportunity"

If you or your school, club or company would like to get involved in British Sign Language taster classes then please get in touch.
